This will allow me to use proper structural elements (category) and get a proper graphic when cutting sections etc - as opposed to using a beam system ? This parameter will not be available if youve sketched your roof using Lines. To get your rafter resting precisely on your top plate you will have to go into the roofs properties and change the 'Rafter or Truss' parameter to Rafter. But by default Revit will treat your roof joists as trusses. Still needs a lot of work, but it was just a thought. The roof will now rest on your top plate (Level 2).
